Griswold Filtration is a California-based company that specializes in the manufacture of physical water treatment systems for applications such as boilers, condensers, cooling towers, evaporators and heat exchangers. Their systems incorporate the revolutionary Griswold SBC electronic precipitation systems, which eliminate scale and bacteria, without the use of expensive chemicals.
The Griswold SBC Controller generates a proprietary signal process that is applied to the water via a series of induction coils housed in a reaction chamber. As the water passes through the reaction chamber, the size, shape and net charge of dissolved mineral crystals are instantly altered. In this altered state, calcium and other hard water minerals do not precipitate in the normal fashion and adhere to surfaces. Bacteria and corrosion are also controlled. This signal provides nucleation sites in the water that force minerals to precipitate in the aqueous solution— forming larger colloidal particles that do not adhere to surfaces.
Many of the natural hydrogen bonds between water molecules are fractured by the resonant forces which results in reduced surface tension and improved solubility. The improved solubility of the treated water allows existing mineral scale to gradually re-hydrate and soften sufficiently to be removed by the water flow, restoring heat exchange efficiency and reducing the need for harsh chemical or mechanical cleaning.
ELECTRONIC PRECIPITATION SYSTEMS
- Reduces solids and fouling problems in cooling water system piping and equipment.
- Improves performance and efficiency of heat transfer equipment.
- Contributes to controlling growth of bacteria.
- Industrial abrasion resistant units available based on application.
